Hello and Welcome to Yep!... Hot Rods Logos. To get things started...I am going to just start writing...some goals frist then a little bio... GOAL for this site: Bring together and build a community of passionate people to help facilitate their dreams using the skills of the contributors. At this point it's just an idea. We have yet sorted all the details out, but as we move along my hopes are we build a strong community of enthusiasts who can share and contribute ideas to one another making the site something fun, unique, and down to earth....OH!...and helpful... :) Part of my contribution to this site will be graphic design and to network woth people who may have a need for any type of graphic design please let me know. I don't know the firing order of a 429 Ford, but I do have a good idea about design. One thing I am looking forward to working on is the idea of personal LOGOS for individual owners and their cars. These logos would represent the hot rod/race car, and a saying, or nameof the owner. Example. Mike Smith owns a 69 Camaro 396. I would design a logo with Mike and Camaro and the 396 combination. What would you like to contribute?
About the Author/Designer/Hot Rod Enthusiast: To start with I am a big hot rod Enthusiast. I grew up in Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia. When turned 19, I joined the Navy and left for the North. I have been living in the North East since 1990. Before moving away form home and with my dad we built many cars. My dad to this day still has a shop outside of Atlanta where he works on all kinds of hot rods. My first car was a Volkswagen bug that my dad and I souped up. (It was the only thing outside of a Chevy my dad would allow to be parked in the driveway.) My second car which we bought the same year was a 67 Camaro. It was in bad shape when we got it. We paid $500 for it in 1986. I spent the next 1 1/2 working on it just about every day until it looked great. After that I had many other cars, including a, 72 Chevelle, and 78 Nova with a small block 400cid 30 over, making it a 406cid. It had a great set of angle plug Bow Tie heads and produced tons of tourque. It was an awesome car. It had a 2:73 gear and would do 80MPH in first gear, buried the speedo in 2nd, and who know how fast 3rd would do. Needless to say, I loved those days. When I joined the Navy all that changed; I was so involved with so many relocations, I could not keep a hot rod around. I eventually settled down outside of Philadelphia where I have lived since 1995. I am currently a Graphic Desiger in the city. I own my own house and I have 2 kids with another on the way. When it comes to Hot Rods, all I have really been able to do is sit on the sidelines and read magazines, and go to a few car shows in recent years due to the family responsibilities. At one point I did not even want to go to car shows because it reminded me of what I’ve not been able to be involved with for so long. With all that said, one thing has always been in the back of my mind, and that is how I can get back in to the Hot Rod world. How can I be smart, and use what I know from the past with what I know now. Well, I have figured out part of the solution with this website. With my dad and help from some friends we have put this together to build a community of hot-rodders from around World. I love the idea of combining design with something that brings about passion for so many people. I know there are some outstanding artist who are living this dream, and i want to thank all of them for giving me inspiration. IN the beginining I will be a little rusy with my hot rod work, but I soon will have somehitng I hope everyon will enjoy.
We plan to have a contact page very soon.
Thank you Morgan Phillips - VannP
